Many of us are involved in research and paper presentation for this we seek the help of other’s work to highlight our work or information in a college paper so we must give them recognize their and give their due credit. Websites can be cited by different formats like "MLA bibliography citation style" and "APA" in text citation. The title of the page for any citation must be "Works Cited" and the page should be double spaced with one inch margins. Firstly to cite a website, one must know the author of the website as the citation begins with author's last name, followed by a comma, then the author's first name followed by a period. In case if the author has a middle initial then it follows the author's first name. so it would sum up like: Author's last name, first name (middle initial if any).
Don’t panic if there is no author, instead of writing the author's name first, one can write the title of the article.
Now the second part of the citation begins, i.e., the article title. Article title will immediately follow the period at the end of the author's name. Make a point that the article title is put in quotation marks and it ends with a period. Now our citation would look like: Author's Last name, First name (middle initial if any). "Article Title."
Immediately after the article title follows the name of the website in italics and is ended with a period. At this point the citation would look like: Author's Last name, First name (middle initial if any). "Article Title." Site Name (Italicized). Attaching the date of the article is the next step. The date is written with the number first, then follows the month, and lastly comes the year ending with a period. At his time our citation would look like: Author's Last name, First name(middle initial if any)."Article Title." Site Name (Italicized). Number Month Year. Now the organization name is attached. The name of organization is written normally and followed by a period. At this point the citation is as follows: Author's Last name, First name(middle initial if any). "Article Title." Site Name (Italicized). Number Month Year. Organization Name. The organization name is followed with the date the person citing the website accessed the website. The date is written in the same format as the date posted above, firstly the number, then and finally month, year ending with a period. Now our citation looks like: Author's Last name, First name (middle initial if any). "Article Title." Site Name (Italicized). Number Month Year. Organization Name. Number Month Year. Lastly in citing a website one has to insert the URL. To insert the URL you copy the URL and put it inside "<>" followed with a period. Now our final citation would look like: Author's Last name, First name (middle initial if any). "Article
Title." Site Name (Italicized). Number Month Year. Organization
Name. Number Month Year. |
